SoilSync values your privacy and is dedicated to protecting your personal data and agricultural telemetry. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we access, how it is processed, and the security measures safeguarding your farm operations.
Our Core Privacy Commitment: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or farm telemetry to third parties for marketing, advertising, or commercial monetization.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide a smart agricultural management and soil diagnostic platform. The categories of data we collect include:
- Account & Profile Information: When you register, we collect your first name, last name, username, email address, phone number, and optional avatar image.
- Agricultural Telemetry: We collect sensor measurements uploaded from your connected physical IoT soil sensors and weather stations, including volumetric soil moisture, temperature, pH levels, NPK nutrient concentrations, and ambient climate conditions.
- Farm Layouts & Blueprints: Data regarding the layout of your farm, boundary mappings, placement and count of garden beds or trellis structures, and related 3D visualization states.
- Crop Management Records: Plant species, planting dates, harvest details, crop yields, succession schedules, farm task lists (todos), and maintenance notes.
- Media Files: Crop leaf and soil photos captured via your device camera or uploaded from your photo library. These are used strictly to run AI diagnostic scans (crop disease and nutrient deficiency detection).
- Device & Support Telemetry: When submitting problem reports, we collect device metadata (OS platform, app version) and relevant telemetry context to assist our engineering team in resolving issues.
2. App Permissions Access & Rationale
To deliver its core features, SoilSync requests access to specific device capabilities. You retain full control to toggle or revoke these permissions at any time through your device's system settings:

3. Third-Party Services & Integrations
We partner with secure technology infrastructure providers to host and run our services:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Cloud authentication, database hosting, secure storage, and execution of automated edge functions. Our database instance is securely hosted in Singapore to ensure compliance and high-performance access.
- Offline Sync Infrastructure: Used for bidirectional offline-first synchronization between your device's local database and our cloud storage.
- Neural Network Models: Neural network models used to process crop photos for leaf health and disease diagnostics.
- Mapping Services: Powering mapping visualization and field boundary rendering.
- Weather Telemetry Services: Providing localized weather forecasts and ambient microclimate telemetry.
4. Security & Encryption Standards
We employ industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures:
- All network communication is encrypted using modern TLS 1.3 / SSL protocols.
- Sensitive authentication tokens and custom access PINs are stored securely in hardware-backed device keychains (SecureStore).
- Cloud database tables enforce strict database-level Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring users can only read and write data they own.
5. Your Rights & Data Management
You have complete ownership over your farm data and profile. You can exercise the following rights directly in the app:
- Access & Edit: View and modify your profile details, farms, layouts, and crop cycles at any time.
- Data Export: View and export your soil diagnostics and farm layout telemetry in standardized JSON format.
- Data Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account. Account deletion permanently wipes your profile, farms, layouts, structures, crop cycles, tasks, succession plans, diagnostic checkups, settings, and support reports.
6. Children's Privacy
SoilSync is designed for adult farmers, agronomists, and agricultural researchers. We do not knowingly target, market to, or collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has registered, we will delete their data immediately.
